God had become concerned that his church was being abandoned for ‘life- style sports’ on Sundays.

He asked Mother Theresa to see if she could bring the flock back for, at least, his holy day.
“Where do I start ?” asked Mother Theresa.

‘Try the skiers and snowboarders’ god told her, ‘they are always absent on the week-ends’

Some time passes and Mother Theresa calls God to let him know the mission is hopeless; ‘They are nothing but vacuous, hedonistic pleasure seekers – completely irredeemable!’

God sighs and offers another possibility ‘Try mountain climbers. They are always alone and could probably use some guidance’

Mother Theresa goes off but calls back to tell him; ‘they are worse, they don’t even care about jobs, they are so corrupted they have no time to hear the truth, and rumor has it they wife-swap’

God sighs but appreciating that this was going to be a challenge asks Mother Theresa to try paragliders, Mother Theresa is reluctant, already defeated twice but agrees to give it one last try.

God doesn’t hear from Mother Theresa for a while and believes this to be a good omen. But when he doesn’t hear from her for an inordinate amount of time and misses their usual Sunday conference call, becomes worried and decides to put in a call. This is the answer he receives:

‘Hi your through to the answering machine of Mammy T. If your phoning and I’m not answering its because I’m at cloud base and your not – ha, ha. Try again after sunset. Ciao’
